My Study Programme

Hello everyone, I hope you're all right. I study chemistry and pharmacy for about 4 years, in general I find that in the University of Chile you have a good method of teaching that will serve us for our future jobs, but anyway there are things that disgust me a little about their program. One of them is that in many courses they do not focus the contents on what we are going to do in the future, so we do not find much sense. Another thing that disgusts me is that they put a lot of obstacles to taking courses, by this I mean that sometimes they ask you as a prerequisite to approve certain courses to be able to take others being that among them they have none  connection. An example is the course of "legislation", it’s asked for "pharmacognosy" in order to study it, since plants and laws do not have much relation to each other.
The duration of the studies is very long should be five and half years, but being such a difficult race ton average egress borders between 7 to 8 years , it’s very sad, I know it. But I hope that the hours without sleep, the days without seeing our parents or boyfriends are worth the effort in the future. Because we give everything, really everything until our mental health to finish the career.
With regard to the facilities there are many things pending and this is more noticeable on rainy days since we have nowhere to be, but little by little progress is progressing, and in the teaching infrastructure we have what is right and necessary to get to understand the subjects. Being honest, the teaching methods don't work for me much because I don't withhold past information in a class, I need to discuss it in my home. For the same reason, I hardly attend study classes on my own most of the time because it's the way it accommodates me.

My Opinions

The first opinion I will give is regarding the legalization of guns, well the truth is that I'm someone super pacifist and therefore I think using the guns is a very horrible end, because if someone has a certain shot against their assailant , wife, family member, etc. will most likely kill you instantly. I would only allow them for use inside premises to intimidate the assailant, but I think there are many other ways to avoid being assaulted, they could learn taekwondo or some kind of self-defense.
My second opinion is about tattoos, I think they are beautiful but I don't know if I would be able to make one, the subject of needles worries me a lot , I feel that for some people it is something really meaningful and other people are only made out of habit hahaha. if One day I would become one would be something small and meaningful like a moon or a rose.
My third opinion is about animal testing, it's a pitiful but necessary thing for humans, many must hate me for this but it's the truth. Most of the time it is necessary for the creation of new drugs, to verify dosage, toxic effects and much more, obviously if there was a way to avoid it I would prefer it such as using invertebrates as they feel less pain or by computer programs.
My fourth opinion is about the legalization of abortion in all three causes, I agree with this since I put myself in the place of these women and it must be very difficult to carry a pregnancy resulting from a rape for example, I feel that they could not even look their babies so they would give them up for adoption and they would give in the SENAME place where they would suffer even more, at the end and after the day they would only bring pain to this world.

Marie Curie

Hello classmates, today I’m going to talk about my favorite scientist, she is Maria Salomea Sklodowska – Curie better known has Marie Curie was a polish scientist, nationalized French. She was born in November 7, 1867 and died on July 4, 1934 because of an anemia caused by one of her experiments.

She was pioneer in the field of the radioactivity, she was the first person to win two Novel prizes (in Physics and in Chemistry) and she was the first female professor at the University of Paris. She shared the Novel prize in Physics with her husband Pierre Curie and with the physicist Henry Becquerel; 8 years later won the novel prize in Chemistry for discovering two new chemical elements (Radium and Polonium), one of them called him as her native country.
Her achievements include the development of theory of radioactivity, isolation techniques of radioactive isotopes and the discovery of various chemicals elements. Based on her studies of the radioactivity during the First World War she created the first radiologic centers for military use.
However, her continued radiation exposure, took her to periods of weakness and to die of leukemia. I like her because despite the prejudices of the time, she keeps doing what she loves, which science and research. And she succeeded in everything he did, it is demonstrated in her two Nobel prizes, that’s all I hope you like this post.
